Depends on the ticket you buy. If you buy economy lite, the you have to pay to book seats anywhere. Economy classic include standard seats downstairs only, or you can pay £35pp for the bubble. Economy delight seats are extra leg room seats downstairs only. Exit row seats are still chargeable.

I've travelled on row 80a and they were £35 each way extra going in Jan and ive booked row 75a exit row you get extra leg room £59 each way so no one in front of you, both in the bubble. Highly recommended

if you go on seatguro.com you can see the seat layout of all seats on every plane. Probably the best area on a 747 for economy apart from exit door seats. You will be one of the first off. You can also enjoy standing next to the premium economy passengers whist queuing for the only toilet upstairs in the premium area. It’s also a great area if you have rowdy kids or babies as it is less bothersome to other passengers if it worries you. In fact I don’t know why virgin have never made it into a crèche.

How is it less bothersome to other passengers, what about the people who sit upstairs to get a way from these kids , or parents that can not control them.

Personally I think that Virgin have missed a trick and not made the bubble adults only.
