Hotel Chocolat

Does any one have any Hotel Chocolat products at the moment. I ordered some chocolate from Amazon and am surprised that the use by date is only 01/2020. Is this usual, they are Christmas presents, so would nearly be out of date by Christmas. Just thought I'd ask as I'll probably have to send them back.

I buy quite a few presents from here - I find the chocolate is usually well dated, but some fillings have much shorter date ranges, so may depend on what you ordered?

That’s weird, are they specific Christmas edition chocolate ?
Just that in previous years I’ve had Christmas choc fro there and it’s been dated as late as Sept the next year.
Think last year was March date.

Got an order being delivered today so will have a look. I expect if the fillings have cream in the sell by date maybe shorter.

My daughter ordered a box for a colleague as a Christmas gift last week, I didn't check out the sell-by date but they didn't even come packaged, it was just the chocolates in their original box with an address label on them.

You can probably guess the state they were in. She was then faced with two choices either send them back or put them in the disposal unit known as her mother. Mum won.

This is no longer nice chocolate. Over half went in the bin and you have to know what I'm like for sweets to appreciate that one.

My daughters partner ordered her a box from them. Plus paid for next day delivery.

2 weeks later still waiting but he has had a full refund.

It was the seasonal sleekster, think I’ll try and get to the shop to check out the dates. Just don’t want to be giving out yucky chocolates. Just didn’t expect them to come with such short dates.

Think I might email them to ask why they’ve sent nearly out of date chocolate.
