Help with Toronto

Hi. Were looking at a short break to Toronto during October half term. 2 adults and 2 kids (14 & 12). Looking at 4 or 5 nights. We definitely want to see Niagara Falls, but struggling with the rest!

Will we need to hire a car for the duration, or just the bit with Niagara? Are we better doing 3 nights Toronto and then 2 nights Niagara?

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated

Hi
We went to Canada a few years ago and loved it. We rented an air B and B in Toronto and then picked up our hire car to drive to Niagara- we stayed in a hotel that had a falls view which was amazing.

We just hired a car for the day trip to Niagara. Otherwise Toronto is very doable without it. In October a day trip would be more than enough!

A day would be absolutely fine in Niagara - we did a booked tour with VH but plenty drive themselves. About 90 mins away if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the responses. Any suggestions on where to base ourselves - any hotel recommendations, mid-budget?

We stayed at the Fairmont Royal York - perfect location, right in the middle of everything, opposite the Union Station so easy to/from get to the airport. Apparently it's where the Royal Family stay when they come to visit Toronto!

I'm also looking to do an October 2020 half term trip to Toronto so I'm pleased to see some tips. Thanks for posting OP.
