Me too. I was in my placement year working for an American company. We had a trainer over from Washington and I remember frantic calls from his home and having to go an interrupt his training to tell him what had happened. We had one of the only TV's in the building in our office (training) so it was crowded with people all trying to make sense of what has happening.

Just surreal.

Yes, it is a day that sticks in the mind. I certainly remember where I was when the news came through.

surreal day

i was onsite in yorkshire with no power/internet etc etc during the day someone mentioned a sight seeing plane had hit a skyscraper in new york, we thought nothing of it

i drove home with a CD on and got in about 22:00 to an empty house, my mrs was out at a leaving so, i put the TV and thought i was watching a film, changed channels and every channel was showing the same images...

i sat up till about 2:00am just taking it all in..

* reading that back sounds like an alibi !

I was in work, we had a young girl in the office, whose boyfriend phoned to tell her what was happening, we told her that was daft and wouldnt be true, how wrong were we.

I found out i was expecting my first baby our honeymoon baby on this day so a massive mix of emotions for us...

Such an awful day. I was only 8 at the time but remember it so well.
