Does marzipan go off?

I have a pack in the cupboard that I didn't use last year. Its fully sealed but well past the date on it. Does it really go off? It feels soft, I haven't opened to look at it though.

I would use it - in fact I remember finding a Christmas cake in my larder well over a year old with marzipan that had gone hard and wasn't ill. I love marzipan and could never throw it out ...

So much sugar I'm sure it will be fine - nibble a bit and if it tastes ok you're good to go!

It’s possible cos of the ground almonds, nuts taste bad if they’ve gone off but if it’s soft it should be fine….

If it's gone off it will be mouldy when you open it. If not, I would use it.
