May 2018 car hire
Looking for a bit of advise
We are staying on site this year and have transport to and from hotel included. However we plan to do some activities out with Disney and feel we need car. There will be 2 adults 3 kids and luggage (lots of) we travel 3rd May and return 17th. Normally we collect from avis at mco I have priced this and 2 wks is coming in at approx £380 for ford escape or similar we have BA points so will reduce slightly (not much)... Disney transportation pick up is showing at $700 can anyone recommend any other places to try. Ideally with the kids we would like to use the Disney buses to travel to and from airport however if it works our significantly cheaper we will just collect the car from MCO. Thanks 😊 |

Hi, your post is slightly confusing.
The Magic Express will be free to and from the airport, so what is the $700 for Disney Transportation that you are referring to? Try Netflights/Alamo Brits/Virgin for an idea of car hire cost. You could get DME to your hotel and then pick up a car from Alamo's Disney Car Care Centre the following day? Or if you don't need the car for two weeks, just get one for a week or so? Alamo will pick you up from your hotel and take you to collect your car, then drop you back after drop off. Edited at 11:07 AM. |

Sorry the $700 was me going to Disney car care centre to price car hire so I could collect the car from within Disney area rather than go back to the airport to collect the car... sorry

No need to apologise.
You can book a car with Alamo from the Car Care Centre through most of the agents that we book with, some of the most popular being:- Netflights Virgin Alamo Brits DFCH Auto Europe Daily rates are the same as picking up from the airport, pre pay in £. Alamo shuttle service to and from your Disney hotel for car collection/drop off is free. |

why are you quoting in dollars ?
you can pick up at Disney Car Care, but you'll need to use Alamo try Andy at DFCH (look at the top of this forum, in the yellow box) I'm using in next may, and so far his prices have not been beaten by any other supplier (first class service too) you can also book in GBP on alamo brits, or any UK based third party site. As chmurf says hopefully you are not using a USA based web site to get prices. Chances are that the figures are hopelessly underinsured since Americans will usually be covered for a hire car under their normal car insurance.
Please try the UK based companies as above - I can readily endorse Andy for the same reasons. Mick

Andy is a good shout, especially if you only need 1 driver, he was cheapest for my August dates and no deposit required either.
But for my May dates, Netflights have come out the cheapest. Even after adding the extra drivers and tank and fuel, they were cheaper than Alamo Brits with just the extra driver. |

Another vote for Andy.
We are at wdw and universal onsite in may and getting WDW ME from MCO then picking up standard size suv with full tank of fuel, and all extras for £280. Collecting from disney car care centre, then 7 days later return to mco when we fly home. Edited at 09:57 PM. |
