Gryffindor's on tour 2017 Highs and Lows

We had a wonderful trip in 2017 we really did. We explored a bit further afield and took things at a slower pace incorporating some nice chill days too. Having been before a few times we didn't feel the need to fit everything in. However I felt 3 weeks just that little bit too long and much preferred 18 nights like we did in 2016.

Anyway I'll begin with the lows and end of a high!

Lows:

*the missing wheelchair, just put a rubbish ending onto our travel day. It really stressed me out but all worked out well and it didn't have a massive impact on our holiday.

*missing phone on the way home. We never did find it but Evan now has an iPhone 6plus so it had a happy ending for him, not really for us £££

*discovery cove as you've read in the trip report it just wasn't for us. I felt like we were on a money making conveyor belt, but we've done it now it's ticked off the list but I wouldn't return.

*not doing Disney, I just felt being so near yet so far I really pined for Disney.

*universal/IOA falling out of love with these theme parks, there was just no magic here at all and all very same simulator rides.

*Evan's behaviour at times was really exhausting it's just a constant battle sometimes, majority of the time he was well behaved but we all know about it when he's not happy and in a rage!

*being sick, it really messed up our last day

Highs

*jet lag, the different flight times meant we slotted right back into the uk time, having a true night flight really did make a massive difference

*Seaworld, having not been since I was 15 I really enjoyed the park and having happy memories of my dad.

*Busch again we've not been for a long time but we really fell in love with Busch, I feel it's such an overlooked park.

*MNSSHP we had an amazing night here, need I say anymore!

*Miami and Key Largo, it was so nice to explore a bit more of Florida and we loved the Everglades and the bottom glass boat tour.

*Poly fireworks, we had a wonderful night watching the fireworks from the beach, I felt really happy.

*Moonlight drive in movie theatre based in Lakeland it was nice doing something a bit off the beaten track and such a cheap night out too, it was ace!

*Chilling at the villa and pool, we wanted it to be a more chilled out holiday and it really was, we also loved the villa and the pool deck area with the lake view, crescent lakes really isn't as far out as people think it is

*kids faces, well I suppose it's what we all do it for really to see those big beaming smiles on the kids faces, makes all the hard work to pay for the holiday seem so worth it

And there we have it, the end of the trip report.

Thank you to everyone for reading and commenting, it really does mean a lot.

Until next time...

Some great highs and not too many lows. Now you can start the planning for this year!

I have just finished binge reading your trip report and really enjoyed it, thanks for sharing. Our trip crossed over with your dates. Enjoyed reading your Universal days as we are only doing Universal this year, I am feeling a bit apprehensive about this, as I am a huge Disney fan. Think I am really going to miss it. Yours is the second trippie that I have read recently where people have fallen out of love with Universal - in fact I think it's actually the third! Oh well, I guess I am lucky to be going to Florida at all.

I'm sure you will all have a brilliant time. I'm not sure of it came across a lot in my report but it just felt because Jacob was not 54" that we spent a lot of the holiday split up, however now he is 49" in Disney we will be able to do all the rides as a family and I'm really looking forward to that! We will venture back to universal once Jacob reaches 54".
