I've heard the "bad selfie" excuse too. You should always pick cats for personality not colour!
I have two black and white cats called Rosie and Jim and they're just brilliant.

 Ours was originally called Logan when we got him but thought he suited Jasper a lot more. He’s brill.

They're 14 this year and although they were close at first (as we've had them as kittens from sisters) they haven't been close for a long time now. But they have their own areas in the house, so are happy. |

Black dogs are the same, I have two rescue lurchers from Greyhound Wales and all the black dogs take longer to rehome than any other colours
