omg booked my car hire today for next year with andy from discount florida car hire and I am already feeling nervous as I have never driven out there, am I right in saying all I need my paper driving licence don't need a special permit or anything do i

Well done on booking. You will only need the paper part of your license if you never applied for the photo card license.
If you do have a photocard license then you can shred the paper part as it's not a valid document anymore. No other paperwork is required apart from the rental agreement and a credit card to swipe.

Other than being on the wrong side of the road, it's a doddle. Roads are much wider than in the UK and from our experiences, other drivers are better than here - makes it a more enjoyable drive

I had never driven abroad before going to Orlando, I am always a little nervous when I first pick up the hire car, but it soon passes, it is really easy driving over there. The drivers seem to be a bit more courteous as well.
