Universal Orlando annual pass questions

We're going to Orlando in September and April/May but will only be visiting universal for 2 days or so each time.

It seems to work out cheaper to buy an annual pass for each of us than buying 2 lots of 2 day 2 park tickets for 2 of us

Does anybody know if the APs are for the calendar year (January-December) or from purchase date (i.e. September-August)?

Can I buy today to collect in September? Or will that make my year start on this day?

TIA!

You can buy today and collect in September. The year should start from the day you activate your pass on your 1st use.

I think they actually last 366 days as we activated ours on the 16th September and they expire the 17th this year.

Thank you both. I will do it tonight.

I'm confused as to why it is cheaper to have an annual pass than visit four times in one year!

And the renewal is even cheaper. For us it was less than a 2 day parks ticket, but the prices have gone up since.
