Mobile Travel cot with BA

Hi, we are flying next Thursday with our 6 month old baby. We have selected seats with the infant fold down table. Does anyone know if we also have to request a cot or if it will automatically be provided?
If we do need to request it, any idea how? I can't see anything on the manage my booking page.

Thanks!

My understanding is that you have to request onboard and they are available ona first come first served basis with those in higher cabins given preference.

I think you can request and they will allocate the specific seats but cannot confirm availability.

The following comes from another site from s poster who is a long standing member of BA cabin crew.

You can use the child seat in First but not the cot.
We have a mixture of car seats and cots loaded, I would say 8 child seats and 2 or 3 cots, customers in the higher cabins would get their choice first.

My understanding is also that you reserve the seats, but the cots and chairs can not be reserved in advance but requested on the flight. At 6 months the cot may be too small depending on the size of your baby.

These videos (one BA) give video of the cot and chair that are available.

First shows the cot and also the chair.

Second, this BA video about LHR gives good info on taking a baby and shows the britax seat in the infant area
