Is Epcot REALLY that bad during Food & Wine festival?

We are there over the festival and I was looking forward to strolling round World Showcase (doing what my Mum called the 'Disney Drift') and enjoying some different food and wine samples.

I'll be so disappointed if it's truly hideous at that time Is it only weekends that are really awful?

We were there for the first 2 weeks of it last year and it was lovely! I follow the busy day guide and we didn't go on a Saturday but the days we were there were great.
It can and does get busy, evenings and weekends especially but from the vlogs I've seen at busy times it's still enjoyable, just a little more queueing for snacks.

Thanks Unexpectedpenny, that is really helpful.

We have tickets that let us park hop, so if we go and the F&W crowds are unbearable we'll just go a different day. We'll be at the start of the festival too, and thinking of going the Sunday evening so hopefully won't be too bad (as locals will have work on Monday!)

I think the 'avoid at weekends' is overplayed a bit.

We just carry on as normal.

By the way... don't go shopping in your town on a Saturday...its busy at weekends.

You'll want to avoid Friday evenings and Saturday late afternoon/evening especially.

Weekdays it'll be fine.
