We get back on 25th of sept and had hired a Camero.
We usually have Mustangs or sebrings. We absolutely love it, but dh has had 9 convertibles here at home from a Porsche To his current SLK. We have the top down most of the time and in an evening it's lovely as the sun sets.
Occasionally we put the top up s to get the benefit of the air con.

The majority of Convertibles in the Orlando area tend to be driven by holidaymakers. You can tell the locals as in the height of summer they are in their hardtop cars with the heavy tinted glass and the windows fully closed to let the aircon do its job
Just our family's experience, each must make their own decision of course.
You can get very wet in 30 secs of Florida rain LOL
We had guests who hired one and although they used sun cream on their arms and face they forgot about their shins which ended up burnt

This is why I love the DIBB...

Mum and her partner had a Mustang when we went in April 2012 and the kids loved it. I was considering getting one for when we return in July 2016, but was concerned re luggage compartment more than anything else. Didn't even think about the heat / rain scenario but after having read this thread, its gonna be a definite no no!

Big comfy car with lots of AC it is for us! Just think of all the shopping we can do now
