Alamo online check in

I've booked car hire through Charter Travel and have the link to do save time. When I originally booked I was told I could do this and go straight to the collection point. Charter travel yesterday said to me that this would just speed things up and I still need to go to the counter. Is that right? Was hoping this would avoid waiting in another line when we've travelled for hours!

You'd need to complete OLCI and 'bypass the counter'. Try a 'Alamo' search as there have been a couple of threads on here very recently giving directions on how to achieve both when having booked Alamo via a third party.

As per Chris. have a read of Yorkshire Dans sticky above these posts, gives a step by step way to do it.

Saund - if you have your confirmation number from CT, try using this link, don't worry that it's the .com link... it should take you thro OLCI and bypass the counter. You'll need your driving licence and credit card to register.

Let us know how you get on as I'm in a similar situation with Auto Europe.
Going to give it a go once I've got my printer fixed!

I've failed miserably at the first hurdle, neither of the reference numbers I have form CT work! I've contacted them to check what it should be then will re try although from reading Yorkshire dans sticky I don't think we can do skip the counter as we have booked through an agent

Apparently you can Saund... get the 'correct' confirmation number you need from CT to access Alamo.com (good luck with that one!) and then read this thread by catsandtrees... she outlines how she did it - http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/show...+the+c ounter

I've just done it!

I booked Alamo with Auto Europe and pre-paid.

They sent me an Auto Europe voucher which had an Alamo reservation number on it, 10 digits long.

I've just gone onto Alamo.com and logged in with that number, all my dates and vehicle details came up correctly.

I then did OLCI.

After completing the OLCI I left the page open and then opened a new page in my browser.

I googled 'Alamo skip the counter'. IMPORTANT- make sure you select the address which has 'checkin/bypass' in it!

I clicked on this, the Alamo 'Skip the Counter' page then popped up with all my details on!

I just had to accept/decline the extras, add my credit card details and then Boom! printed out my 'skip the counter ticket' which tells me to 'skip the counter, skip the kiosk, go directly to your vehicle'
