DDP and particular restaurants

Hiya,

I have been looking at how the DDP works and it seems that even on the DDP you can only eat in certain restaurants?

I have seen the leaflet for next year and restaurants such as T-rex restaurant and Rainforest cafe are not on there so does that we would have to pay out of pocket to eat at these restaurants?

You can eat in the majority of restaurants at WDW on the DDP. Next years list isn't finalised yet and won't be until late December, early January. Have a look at this years list as it will give you a much better idea of what's available.

This happens every year as 3rd party restaurants renegotiate contracts, but I've never known one to come off. If anything, more get added

The above is correct. Jury is out on some of the new Disney Springs restaurants though.

We go in May and would like to book an ADR for Trex, will I only be able to book this in January (assuming they sign up)?

No, you won't have to wait to book any adrs. Our past 3 holidays have been April, Feb and Jan, so our 180 day mark came around LONG before the list for the year we were travelling was released. I've used the current years list every time and not had any problems

We are starting to plan our ADR's for our May trip, and had noticed the same - some fairly major names are missing from the current 2017 line up; Via Napoli, Chefs de France, Rainforest Cafe, Teppan Edo...
As above, I think we'll use the 2016 list to choose from, book all our preferred choices when the ADR window opens and double check them off against the list closer to the time.
Glad it wasn't just me who was wondering about this!

It happens every year and I've never heard of anyone choosing a restaurant then finding that it was removed from the list.
