Money on Revolut

So what’s the general consensus? We have 2 cards loaded up with dollars. I have no idea when we are going next, certainly not for at least 2 years. If I change my dollars back to pounds, I will gain a little bit of money (if I’ve done my maths right )

What is everyone else doing? Part of me wants to hang on to the dollars just in case but the other part of me says to cash them in.

Changing them back to pounds gives you flexibility in this climate if you need to spend the money on something else...and some profit...and protection against the card people going belly up.

If you don't trust yourself to be disciplined and only spend it if really necessary, and you do trust the card people, then leave it as dollars as it will be a good head start when things go back towards normal.

I've got a couple of hundred dollars left from last time, and enough pounds (for now) to make it not worth the bother of changing it back.

You can check what amount you would get if you convert back into £ via the app.

I only have a little bit of cash on mine at the mo as we were going on the dining plan, so I will just leave them on the card for now unless I get desperate!

I changed mine back and popped it into a separate account. Hoping to reload when the rate goes back up (if it does). I was nervous about them going under and taking my money with them.

That’s a good idea. I have euros on mine too and didn’t think about them going bust. Hopefully that won’t happen but who knows anything anymore

I had a lot of money loaded on my Fairfx card ready for our May holidays. I was in 2 minds whether to leave it there til next year but actually received a little more back by converting to pounds at a good buy back rate & funds in my bank account in couple of days

Only worth changing back if the exchange rate is in your favour otherwise it’s pointless unless you can take the ‘hit’ or you ‘need’ the money.

I changed ours back last week, some of it was the kids money and they just got a Nintendo switch so they had their money back & bought a game each. I have dollars in cash that I will keep, as hoping to go in Feb, but I was wary of keeping it in revolout and needed some extra cash so just took the hit and transferred it back!
