Dibbers going the extra mile. Many thanks.
Tonight I was just thinking back in time about some Dibbers who have stood out for me in terms of really going the extra mile since I've been a member. I hope that it's OK to mention them as I don't want to either embarass anyone or cause anyone concern that I haven't mentioned others that have been, and continue to be, special.
It's a few Dibbers that I thought of and is in no way meant to be a definitive list. I hope at this dark time, that this is seen as a positive and hopefully edifying thread on how nice people can be. alkel2730 At the time of Hurricane Irma, which hit Florida in 2017, she used her own DVC points to secure a room for another Dibb family with a young child and keep them safe. She refused to accept any payment. https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...highlight=irma DapperDisNY An American Dibber, who I believe lived in New York State and offered to collect NYC tourist leaflets, maps etc. He then posted them to Dibbers in the UK when he collected them on visiting NYC. https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...light=leaflets Aims Another American Dibber, Amy is a resident of San Diego. She is a fantastic ambassador for her home city. She has gone to a lot of trouble to prepare a very comprehensive guide to San Diego, which can be found as a sticky on the West Coast planning forum. She is always there to give advice and help people with questions about her beautiful city. https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...d.php?t=525823 As I say, it's just my thoughts on three Dibbers that have stuck in my mind. Please feel free to add to this in a positive spirit. (I know things can sometimes go awry, especially at this stressful time, so please keep this upbeat. Thanks ) Take care.

A Dibber’s daughter had left her suitcase on a train, in Newcastle (I think). It had all her Uni work in it. McPlod offered to go to the station and get the suitcase and keep it safe. It was a great read, and a lovely thing to do. I’m sure there are many more, but I always remember this one. Lovely thread.

Haven’t got anything to add but love this idea - it’s good to hear uplifting stories of kindness right now (though I have to say that I think one of the positive things to come out of all this is many people seem to trying to be kinder to others - let’s hope that doesn’t stop).
