Out here now villa nightmare

Hi
we are staying at emerald island resort booked with pillanger we checked in Friday and were given a gate card to access main gate.

On Friday evening the card would not work so we had to go back to the clubhouse Saturday to be given a new card. When we went to the club house though where told the problem was not with the card but the management company and could we get them to ring on Monday. They have authorized our card until Monday, but we are booked in until Friday so I'm not happy about this uncertainty.

Also we are staying at lowes Monday night so from Monday morning until Tuesday evening we will not back at clubhouse/resort to see if this had been sorted out.

I'm going to go to the clubhouse today and explain see if we can get authority to Tuesday and I've emailed management company to get them to ring the number.

They have replied they have managed this for 10 years and never had to give guest info (don't know what he got that from as we where only told they needed to ring) and he would phone and find out what the hell is going on.

But I'm stressed to hell what if we come back Tuesday and cannot get in. Our belongings are in villa. And also what if we have no where to stay this has never happened to us before any help would be appreciated.

Your contract is with Pillenger so ring them. It sounds like a problem between the owners and HOA so they are withholding the card to enter resort which is a bit naughty as its nothing to do with you. Perhaps the owners behind on their HOA fees and they have acted in this manner...they used to just cut off the tv connection(HOa provided). I am speculating here that this is the cause and the Manco probably is as much in the dark as you. First call is Pillenger as your contract is with them.

Did they say why they’d only authorised the card until Monday?

I’m sure you will be able to get in even if you have to wait for someone else to turn up and you follow them in. I’d try not to let it put a dampener on your stay especially if you are staying onsite (I’m presuming universal as you said Loews?).

Its gated and guarded ..you need a card.The Dolphin Lane(lift barrier) is card operated and only lifts for one vehicle..you couldn't "follow one in" its too quick unless you want a dented hood...

Not perfect by any means, but 30 sec to help OP who obviously has enough stress on her plate.

Sorry OP, can't help personally as no Villa rental experience.

Thanks I've emailed both who said it is a hoa issue and they are dealing with it and we shouldn't worry

Monday because the management is closed weekends and nothing can be sorted until then x

Hi yes we have thanks - we spent last night at lowes Pacific and have just arrived back at the villa and no explanation other than a email from management to say all sorted with hoa and we just need to go to the clubhouse tomorrow to have our access card updated! Not sure what the problem was but was a bit stressful bit all turned out ok thanks x
