I know it doesn’t help her pain, but can you contact the school for her to take the exam in a side room with those that have additional needs? Because if she’s that bad she’s going to need to be able to go to the bathroom during the exam, also after sitting for 90 minutes shes going to be self conscious about getting up (or maybe she could sit in the seat closest to the door if a side room isn’t an option?)

I have endometriosis and I was gonna suggest the same as the other ladies that have it. It’s exactly what I was like too. Was also on the drugs your daughter is taking also had codine and tramadol and co codamol (not all together)

The only real time mine has been manageable is now I am on the pill. I’m on something called feanolla I think it’s progesterone only.

Now I don’t have type 1 diabetes but my dad did so I dunno if it’s all linked somehow.

Problem with Endo is you have to have a lap to get it diagnosed.
I would get her to a gynaecologist. GPs don’t always understand and endo isn’t often diagnosed for years.

This will be the second month using this new medication. It’s not helped that much to be honest.
So I am hoping the gyno will investigate further when we go back in a month or two.
I just thought everyone could go on the pill. She can’t go on like this, that’s for sure.
Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences 👍🏻

If her gyno is nervous of the type 1 (some medical personal who aren’t experienced with this just are) then can you request her DSN to make a case on her behalf that the pill is perfectly fine and safe for her despite the type 1 and then they need to consider it from a medical perspective without the type 1 closing the door when it doesn’t need to.

I'm not diabetic but have all of the same systems as your daughter so can sympathise a lot. I really hope that you get some good results from the gyno as I know from experience how hard it can be to get people to understand the severity of the symptoms when you're so young and they've never experienced them themselves.

Personally if she didn't find that the mefenamic acid helped last month, then I wouldn't rely on it during the exam period. I know everyone is different put I found it to be absolute rubbish. It's suppose to have the same effect as ibuprofen but it takes so much longer to kick in and didn't feel as effective.
The Nurofen Express are pretty good, as are the Aldi equivalent.
Whatever NSAIDs she's taking: start taking them 2 days before it starts so there's a build up in the system. I normally set an alarm for 5am on the day that my period starts and take some tablets with a snack just so that they should already have taken effect by the time that I have to get up and move around.
Poundland do some heatpads that are quite good (obviously not as effective as a hot water bottle but pretty good for when you need to be out and about.)

Really hope she manages to make it through her exams OK xx
