With a 10 year old, I would go to Walmart and Target first-much better quality for a little more money. Most Walmarts have decent sized craft areas if you watch for sales Michael's etc can have good deals (and lots of coupons) personally, I avoid Hobby Lobby. they are owned by fundamentalist Christian's who try to impose their beliefs on others (they sued over the affordable care act requiring that birth control be paid by insurance, not an issue for you guys but a big issue for many Americans.).
Thanks. I will keep an eye on the dates. We plan to visit a Walmart to pick up some shopping so I’m sure we will have a good look around in there too!

I remember having a conversation about buying file folders with an office suitemate. she was arguing that going to an office supply store made sense because "if you buy folders from Staples, it may cost $7.00 for 20 and you leaving after paying $7.99. You go across the street to walmart and pay $5.99 for the same folders but leaving paying $89.00 for a cart full of stuff you didn't know you needed."

Walmart also takes discipline-it's way to easy to spend more than you should. But it is fun and they always have a good selection of Lego.
