Disney tkts - anyone bought 1day tkt locally?

Disney tkts available in the UK are 14day tickets, but we have done Disney parks several times and kids are grown up now. We only want to visit HS for the Star Wars stuff so don’t really want to splash for 14 day tickets. Has anyone bought the one day tickets locally when you get there? And how does that work with the reservation system I think they are using just now? Not going until 2022 but love to plan ahead!

Haven't bought them "locally" but have bought them online from disney anything under 2-3 days won't really be any cheaper elsewhere as there is no mark up so no wiggle room for discounts. You get your code/ticket number & just add it to MDE & book as normal- they are all date based anyway.

Just get them before you go via the Disney site, you can then book park reservations straight away

Undercover Tourist sell them online. Although not local, sorry just saw that bit, I think they have a good reputation.

Edited at 10:17 AM. Reason: Adding info

If you go onto the disney app that you normally see you holiday on, click on the + it will say buy pass tickets you can buy then there i got my 1 day from there, you can book your park reservation too so you can check out what parks are available but obvs your going in 2022 they shouldn't be out of reservations yet.

Because of the park reservation system and HS typically booking out because of everyone wanting RotR boarding passes, I wouldn't wait until there to purchase. As mentioned above, you can buy 1 day passes in advance directly through MDE or via reputable sites like Undercover Tourist. I'd purchase a few weeks before you go, maybe a little more if you're travelling at peak times which book up further in advance like Thanksgiving or Christmas week.

This is EXACTLY what we are doing as we are only doing HS on May 4th next year... Research I have done is there's no way round about it, its going to be about £100 a ticket from Disney site, not discounted really anywhere else. I am going to buy well before travel so I can get set up for booking Rise of Resistance on MDE app at 7am on day I will be going.

Does anyone have the link to buy one or two day disney tickets via their official website? I can only find the 7 and 14 day tickets.
TIA
