We have 3 wheels bins and a food waste caddy for inside.
Green bin- general waste collected fortnightly.
Blue bin- recycling of paper, cardboard, glass, tins etc fortnightly
Brown bin- garden and food waste -fortnightly

Our bins are always very full, I think we could do with a more regular collection even if it is just of the blue bin. This is in East Yorkshire.

Just thinking about the regularity / type of collections , again such a huge variation

In a 2 week period Roses has two collections , where I belong has 5 . So in a year roses has 52 , where I belong has 130

We would have 78 ( ignoring any garden waste drop off in the winter )

Scary difference

And I suspect ( without digging back ) others may have even more than where I belong

Black wheelie bin collected weekly for general waste

Green wheelie bin for garden waste
Black box for glass
Blue bag for cardboard
Green bag for metal and plastic

The green bin and recycling are collected on alternative weeks, on the same day as the black wheelie bin.

There are 3 different trucks. Black bin, green bin and then a recycling truck. The different types of recycling get loaded into different parts of the truck to keep it separate.

Rushcliffe (Notts) council: we have a black bin for general waste, emptied alternate weeks to the blue bin for recycling (though no glass allowed - this has to be taken seperately to specific glass recycling points).
We also have a green garden waste bin that we pay yearly for, that gets emptied the same week as the blue bin, by a seperate bin lorry.

Also I see no one else so far has the same 3 week cycle on general waste as we do . We must save the Council a fortune by having that which I guess is potentially why we don’t have to pay for our garden waste bin .
We have a wagon for our general waste and another wagon for the recycling which has separate compartments for the different types of recycling.
