We booked a Flydrive with BA flying from Heathrow on the 18th April - 25th April for £400 for the 5 of us - saw that price and booked straight away. Flight times are decent too - flying out at 0910 landing at 1555. Return flight 0855 landing at 1200.

Luckily my children are now all in the same school and have the 25th April as a training day which is a bonus however, for the sake of one day I would have just taken them out of school.

It then took me all day yesterday to hunt out accommodation and ended up booking The Odessa Beach Resort through Travel Republic for £1200 (2 x Twin rooms all inclusive).

I told my mum about the price and she was going to join us as it was working out around £450 for her with the single person supplement and she said she would let me know this morning but prices have gone back up.

Still not awful prices but a few £100 more.

I know I couldn’t believe how cheap it was for the Easter half term!

Flights to Mykonos were coming up cheap too for the same dates but Cyprus topped it just because I researched that it would be slightly warmer.

We have booked a Flydrive so I’ve said to my husband we just as well take the car - seems ok to drive over there as they are on the same side of the road as the UK.

Driving is really simple. Even the rules of the road remain unchanged since their independence. You will have absolutely no problems at all. Just be aware of the speed limits when driving through the Sovereign Base Areas at Dhekelia and Episkopi. The SBA Police are both sneaky and ruthless.
