Christmas dinner at Disney

I was just wondering whether dining in a Disney park or hotel on Christmas Day itself brings with it a bigger price tag. Like in the Uk if you choose to eat out for Christmas dinner it’s triple the price of a usual meal at that restaurant. Is that the case when eating out in the US on Christmas Day? Also considering going to universal studios that day instead of Disney, but I do have the park reservations for key dates that I made a while ago!

Now that the borders are open we are hoping to go for our trip over Christmas, which we really didn’t expect to happen. Now I’m panicking about booking somewhere for 2A and 4 teens to eat that won’t also cost the earth due to it being Christmas!

Not from our previous experience. Our favourite Xmas Day routine used to be GF Cafe for lunch after the morning in MK and a late Xmas Dinner at California Grill. Both places offered the usual menu at standard prices.

That is good to know, thank you. The grand Floridian cafe is a good idea that I’d not considered, good for lunch.

The only one I've heard of is the buffets doing a seasonal surcharge. But it was typically only around $5 over regular price, rather than 2-3x the price. Not sure if they're still doing it, and there's only a handful of buffets on Disney property at the moment anyway.

We had lunch at Skippers Canteen on Christmas Day 2017, it was standard pricing and the food was excellent. On our second Christmas visit we went to House of Blues for Christmas Day 2019, it was a great atmosphere and standard pricing.

We paid a ridiculous amount of money for Garden Grill Boxing Day 2019 ($300+) for the 4 of us due to seasonal pricing

Oh really? This is what worries me as there’s 6 of us and the boys are all big eaters so have adult meals, I’m worried it could end up costing a lot more for that 1 meal! Thanks for the heads up with that one

Not every restaurant has seasonal pricing but the character meals do. The good thing about buffet/family style is that if the are classed as children (under 10) then they can eat as much as they like without paying adult pricing. I’ve heard good things about Trails End being a reasonable price for a buffet with Xmas offerings on Xmas day. It’s not fine dining by any stretch but home style cooking. The below link is 2016 but it gives you and idea.
