I’m going to Disneyland! Please help!

So. Going crazy and doing Disneyland and Disney World in one trip. Yes crazy but following my dream. A proper West Coast trip will come one day. This is for August 2022.

So we are going to Anaheim for 6 nights. Looking for recommendations for an offsite hotel with in walking distance in a safe location? 2 adults two kids 15 and 13. I notice on the Disney site you can’t book that far in advance for hotels or park tickets. Is this normal or Covid related?

Also undecided on getting a car. Not planning on going elsewhere so not sure if getting a car service round trip might be better.

All thoughts and suggestions welcome. I will say a proper West Coast trip will come one day. I know it’s a long way to go for Disney but we all have dreams

You don’t need a car if you’re staying around Anaheim
Do you want a hotel room or a suite type arrangement and what is your nightly budget?

Around about £200 per night but if need can go a bit more. Was thinking hotel room with two queens but if we can get a suite in budget within walking distance then that would be great.

Two of the hotels that were very high on my shortlist for my trip in 2018 were the Hyatt House and Springhill Suites by Marriott - they are both within easy walking distance of Disneyland. There is also the added advantage that there is a Walgreens at the Hyatt House if you need to pick up any groceries/toiletries/etc. They book looked pretty nice and new when I was looking at them, and I would have booked them except that the prices were not great for the dates I wanted. I think they have rooms that would easily fit 4 people?

Agree with both of these though I also haven’t stayed they look nice and good location.

Possibly cheaper (and I have stayed there, still walking distance but a little further) are Peacock Suites - think you can probably find somewhere nicer for your budget (it was really fine and nice but we paid a LOT less than your budget for a two room suite.)

Thanks. I will take a look at those suggestions. Being close is important. I was looking at the couple of Best Western locations that look close.

I’d exclude Peacock then

I’ve got a list but guessing a lot can’t be booked before 12 months?

I’m thinking Howard Johnson. A little over budget but think it’s ticks all the boxes,

That one I have stayed at. Very good location. Nicer than most HOJOs I’ve stayed it, but still reasonably basic.
