If you can generate 3.75% return on the cash each year *or an average of that per year* there is no difference, you can take the million and pay yourself £10k a month and have enough to last the 10 years

On a drawdown investment with a 1million starting level, 3.75% should be easy to achieve - I would expect it to be nearer 6-8%

At 8% you can have another £2k a month or stick at 10K and have it for 14 years

Take it all now - might be dead tomorrow! Pay off debts and invest the rest wisely to give a return, so probably in property.

At my young age [cough ], and being on 30 years of borrowed time, I'd spend, spend, spend, plus loads to charity, my family are well taken care of so, lets spend it. When I get my next million [next, who am I kidding ] I'll throw a git big party, all welcome, all expenses paid, accommodation, drinks... meanwhile, back on earth...

I'll get my coat...

I always thought I’d take the £10k a month. But I’d take the million definitely. I can do what I want then and it’s all on me. I don’t need to worry about having that relationship with ITV or whoever for 10yeaes.

I would take the money only because I would be scared that it would suddenly stop before they had finished paying me. That said I know nothing about any competition such as who is paying etc.

I would take the money then ask for advice from you 😉. I like your way of thinking.
