Only one way traffic at the moment. Seems to be more Americans over here than before. Met some when we went to eat in a restaurant in St Andrews, they had a reservation, we didn't 😢 and then returning from Lanzarote to Glasgow last Sunday there were a couple on the flight.

We have 2 Florida holidays booked for next year and I won’t be surprised if we don’t go on either of them

I would have thought that once the Covid situation is under control the Biden administration will have a difficult time explaining why they are still not allowing people to see their families and loved ones purely for political reasons. I would also hope that the average American citizen is intelligent enough to see through this if the opposition try to use it as political ammunition. The Dibbers from the USA that are commenting all seem aware of this and think the current situation makes no sense so hopefully others are of the same mindset.

Sadly, I don’t think most US residents have a clue that the border is closed and most would care less anyway To be honest I I don’t think most of the UK know it either.

Biden’s advisors seem to think he has a lot to lose, politically (because the Republicans will make a negative big deal out of it) in opening up. And very little to gain. That’s the lens the situation is being viewed through.

I agree but lets remember that this is all opinion and has not been announced. No one at the moment (other than the obvious) knows why the borders are remaining closed or when they may open. My point is that if covid is under control then there is no other reason for them to remain closed than for political gain and the opposition presumably could use this as ammunition. If the borders are opened and Covid cases start to rise I would hope that most USA citizens are intelligent enough to understand that it is unlikely that the small percentage of vaccinated and tested tourists entering the country are the cause of this.
