So some people bought the cheap seats yesterday and now it’s gone into the higher fare bucket?
Hardly surprising is it? If no one buys then they’ll release more cheap seats. Same as always. |

I am surprised that anyone finds this surprising. Clearly those who booked before the ban was lifted took a risk and now its more certain and that has stimulated demand. Demand equals reduced seats which then causes price rises as increases hit higher price buckets.
To those with bookings, well done, it was worth the gamble! |

Probably more to do with demand, people have bought seats which sends the price up.

I bought mine around 4pm yesterday, dare not look again. Both economy delight and would either upgrade with points but happy where I am

I should add that we were adamant we weren’t going back for a while after all the cancellations….I’m so bad….as soon as the ban was lifted I started looking for a bargain lol 😂

Prices I looked at yesterday are now £500 more on top of what we’re already high prices. Demand/prices look like they are going to go through the roof.

Just had a look at Easter - we've already got flights, booked before vaccine approval in a moment of optimism and BA kindly moved the original August flights to Easter. Anyway, there are some decent indirect prices, around £500 pp. The flights we are on are being quoted by skyscanner as just over £4K per person return. Needless to say we paid considerably less than that! Still need to know if teens can travel before we get too excited mind.

6 months ago I got 4 flights, a large SUV for 12 nights, 4 nights in a 5 Star hotel on Miami Beach on one of these BA DIY packages shifted from a previous cancelled flight. This is over Xmas and cost £3250 total. To give you an idea, cheapest I can get that hotel for, with Hotels.com, Amex, direct is £500 a night so that is £2000 on its own. I am not sure how much the Chevy Tahoe would be for 12 nights but I imagine £700+ if not more. So my flights in Xmas holidays are now an absolute bargain. I tried to reprice it up last night on BA website but the site was under strain and I could only get the flights up which are more than I paid for the entire holiday now. Happy days.
