vrbo? any experiences

Hi all, just about to book a villa with vrbo, it all looks legit, good reviews etc, can I ask does anyone who booked with them have any feedback ? tia

I have used vrbo 3 times in the uk and never had any problems. I always book ones with good reviews. We did book one for Majorca but pandemic struck and the owner gave us a full refund

We had one in Daytona booked for last year and we got a full refund with no problem, booked one in greece which we managed to get to and they were really good and very helpful with pre and post trip..I would use them again

They are part of Expedia so should be a safer option than some others.

I also advertise on VRBO which comes with additional fees that are not included if you book direct with the owner. If you are using these sites it's still worthwhile asking for the owner to prove that they are fully licensed etc

Hi! We advertise our villa near Disney on the Dibb, vrbo And Airbnb. Booking direct definitely saves you the fees. You can always cross reference property reviews on Airbnb if you’re not sure. For instance, Our villa quickly filled up on Airbnb, which gives Vrbo customers less opportunity to book during the year. So we have a lot of reviews on Air, but few on VRBO. Hope that helps! They acquired homeaway who had acquired owners Direct so long and generally positive history. Like anything go with reviews and contact the owner with questions. Anyone genuine will be responsive and pleased to answer your questions. Anything that doesnt look right - move along...

Booked with them 3 times - never had a problem - they are very organised and keep you informed.

I have booked with HomeAway a couple of times with no issues. For earlier this year I had booked accommodation with HA which then became VRBO. Had to cancel and the refund was paid by VRBO, so all good IMO.
