We are booked!

So we’ve booked Newport Bay for 4 nights for May half term!

I’ve only been to DLP once before, 12 years ago, and felt it compared very unfavourably to Florida, but I’m so excited to be taking our Princess to Disney!

Hopefully Florida in 2023, but for now I’m DLP obsessed!

You might find things have changed in the last 12 years… We went Feb last year and loved every minute. Last time we went before that was 2012 - loved it it then too, despite awful weather!
I find it best to try not to compare with WDW, they’re unique/ individual places and should be enjoyed as such.

But, happy planning.

Yes have done a lot of thinking, and comparing it to WDW is a mistake. We will go with different expectations this time, it will be magical seeing it through the eyes of our grandaughter.

We have four nights/ five days so no need to rush. Hoping to adopt our usual touring plan of mornings in the park, afternoon chill, evening meal and hopefully fireworks.

What’s everyone’s fave places to eat?

Looking at The Steakhouse, Remy’s, Rainforest Cafe ( for novelty aspect) , Plaza Gardens, purely because it looks like Crystal Palace.

Perfect duration. Plenty of time to see and do everything.
It was our daughter’s first Disney experience and it was better than all our WDW and DLP trips combined.
Fave restaurant is Hunters Grill at Sequoia Lodge, fantastic all you can eat buffet. Princess breakfast at Auberge Du Cendrillon was very good too.
We enjoyed the pool at Newport but that was 10 years ago, would imagine it’s not changed much! Perfect for an afternoon swim and then back out to the park for the evening.

Aww you will love it!
It’s where our first love for Disney parks started way back in 2002! It’ll always be our home park!
May is a lovely time to go, so happy planning!

I'm going to be cancelling my booking as US is opening the border. I'm a little sad as I was quite looking forward to going but I've got WDW in Nov (as long as the border opens by 7th) and then again at the end of March next year for the Springtime Surprise runDisney event and I don't have a huge amount of holiday days plus it's quite a lot of money in total.

Must admit, if I had to choose I would do the same. But we can’t take our grandaughter to Florida until 2023 ( and want to wait to see how things are next year anyway before we take her). We have a booking for next September just for us two but will see how things pan out.
Never thought I would be looking forward to DLP but I am!
