August 2022 flights
What are people expecting to pay for August 2022 flights?
We are looking at 2 to 3 weeks out and back in August (back towards the end of August) from a London airport and pretty flexible on dates. Direct is currently £1000+ per person and there are some indirect flights that will work out around £600 with 2 large bags for 4 people. Quite tempted by the indirect flights as not sure there will be anything better. What do people think? |

We never book flight only, always do a fly drive so hard for me to judge on a flight only price. However, for us to get the price under or on budget, we fiddle about with dates, and Florida airports and mix it up.
Next year we are flying into Miami from Heathrow, and back home from Tampa to Gatwick. Heathrow is only 20 mins from us, if that, and would always rather fly into there but Tampa from LGW was cheaper so we went for that. Going for 20 days, 2 adults & 2 teens (16 & 14) and have paid £3000. It really does pay to fiddle around with dates/airports etc to get the best deals, but obviously is more beneficial if you are hiring a car and willing to drive. We've only ever flown into Miami and Tampa, so never look at Orlando prices as they're always way over what we're willing to pay.

we have always found the last two weeks of august as not that busy as the US schools go back. It is hot and humid though.

Do you normally stay in a villa? If you do is pool heating required?

Yes, booked with BA last week. And direct. It’s all one booking under the BA customise booking section.
Fly 17/08 Heathrow to Miami Pick up car at Miami airport Drive to Palm Beach for overnight stay (booked separately) Drive up to Hard Rock Hotel, drop hire car off there at the Avis desk Pick up car hire from HRH 3 days later on check out. Keep that car till we leave on 5th Sept and drop at Tampa Airport. We originally had a fly drive to Miami booked with Virgin, but cancelled that last week and used our deposit to book 2 nights at hard rock, and saved ourselves over £1000. 3 nights at Disney and 13 nights in a villa are booked separately. Flights cost us £3026. In 2016 we paid £2600, 2018 £2900, and 2020 (had we gone) should have been £3500 but that was flying into Orlando. All very similar lengths of time out there, between 16-20 days and flying in/out Miami! The deals are there, you just need to spend the time juggling things around! Edited at 12:18 PM. |

I'm looking at August flights at the moment, I'm not finding anything great to be honest.
I'm thinking about going for a combination of Air Canada and United (indirect) booked through Luthansa for £2.5k that's for 2 Adults a 12 & 14 year old. Dublin to Tampa I never thought I would be paying that much for flights but not sure I have the nerve to wait and see if the prices drop... Louise
