Help needed to move WhatsApp messages to new phone

Hi guys

Wife has got a new Samsung mobile and has tried to move all her apps etc from her Huawei mobile to the Samsung one using Smart Switch. Everything seems to have moved apart from her WhatsApp messages. Could anyone help with trying to do this? Tried to use Google drive but can't locate all the messages on the new phone

Hi, u have to go into whatsapp and back everything up first on the old phone. I did it quite recently.
Go into Settings
Chat
Chat backup

Thank you, we did this and backed up the chat messages on the old phone and WhatsApp is on the new phone but no messages?
