RC cruise excursions

Hello, we have just come off our first ever cruise (Disney dream) and loved it so much, we’ve just booked the Symphony of the seas for next October. We’re a family of 5 doing the 7 night from Miami around the Caribbean and cococay.

I’m just wondering what the usual is in terms of pre booking excursions? With our Disney cruise, it was a very last minute booking, think 5 weeks before we went. So we now have what, not much shy of a year ahead for this cruise. I’ve had a look on our cruise itinerary and I can already book many different excursions, and have done so to make sure we get on them. The only thing is, there’s not an awful lot that our then 4 year old would be able to do (we’re a family of 5 - kids 10,12,4) and obviously with the current rule of not being able to get off the boat unless booking through the ship’s operator - we won’t be able to do much?! The older ones are all good but I can’t obviously add the other adult and little one on to tag along with them…even if we just have beach days as know we are often limited with her age. For example, we managed to book the blue lagoon beach day for her at Nassau whilst I took the big ones to the sea lion encounter.

I’m not worrying as 1. We have ages away and 2. Who knows, rules may change again by then but what I’m wondering, will there likely be more excursions and tours etc added nearer the time?
