Advice please
we have been several times previously but unfortunately our situation has changed, my husband had a stroke last year that has left him with a variety of disabilities and unable to walk unaided or for long distances. we have a villa booked for next year but was wondering how the DAS in each park works please and any general advice would be great as I don't want it to be a negative experience as having spent the last 8 months in rehab id like it to be as amazing a holiday as previous holidays and something to look forward to. Any information re disability services in Florida is greatly appreciated. Thank you Emma & Tony x

This is for Disney, I haven't used disability services at other parks...
I would look into wheelchair or ECV rental for him. Disney have adjusted the majority of their queues to be wheelchair accessible now so don't issue DAS purely for mobility now. However if he has other issues that make it difficult to queue, you can chat to CMs and they can determine whether a DAS pass will be helpful and set it up for you. This can be via a video call in advance, or at guest relations after you arrive. If he qualifies for DAS, it's very simple to use. You'll have a DAS option in the app that allows you to book a return time in the app. This is based on the current standby time (usually about 10 minutes less if it's a long wait) and once you reach that return time, you can enter the ride at any point afterwards through the Lightning Lane. |

Make sure you apply for a temporary parking permit if you have a blue badge at home
You will be able to park much closer Arrange special assistance at the airport and do inquire about the Das pass via a video call |

Disney is really good with wheelchair needs. My son is in a wheel chair and most ques are acessable. As long as he can walk a few steps and transfer to the ride most are doable. And they will take his wheelchair to the ride exit for you. If your unsure about any ride the CM are very helpful.

The special assistance as the airport is a god send. I needed it for wife and son and thankfully they were great.
