What are the excesses like on these policies with Staysure and the banks?

I've just found this thread as I'm searching for travel insurance myself.
One thing I think we all need to be aware of, is not just if Covid is covered - particularly testing positive prior to travel - but how much cover is provided. For example, looking at Staysure's documents, I see they only provide £500 cover per person, by default, on their Basic polcy if you have to cancel your trip. For most Florida holidays, this may barely make a dent in the sum that may be lost. The Staysure Comprehensive policy is better with £5,000 per person covered. So, just make sure you read the small print to ensure the level of cover you get from your policy will actially provide a good level of financial cover should the worst happen. |

I’ve taken out annual insurance with Insureandgo. Their Covid cover was what we need, and with both of us having pre existing conditions, they came out well priced. Have used them before and had to claim due to having my appendix out in Florida 😫 and they were great.

UKI via our Nationwide Flex Plus account.
Cover looks OK ref COVID, did the medical bits today and came in £200+ less than an equivalent direct policy.

After looking on which and Martin Lewis, we booked M&S who are underwritten by Aviva. Single trip policy from now on purely because we booked a year one with staysure in January 2020 but lost all due to covid and travel restrictions. Our summer holiday one for last year was with LV and can move it as many times as we need to when the holiday is moved

Think that’s who I’m going to go with too, we were with StaySure but their wording confused me. By what I’ve read on questions on M&S we should be covered if we need to isolate in US and miss departure home? Is that how you have read it? Also went through Martin Lewis and Which 🤣
For Churchill and Direct line I need to phone as daughter has few medical conditions, just mild. Other one I was looking at was Tesco bank. So confusing 🙈🤣 |

We have an annual policy with Insure & Go. I've just renewed and the price has really gone up; I thought I'd get it cheaper elsewhere but they all seem the same this year. I knew it would increase as we've added cruise cover but not as much as it has. At least this years might get used though - the last 2 years have been a complete waste of money

Yes, that's how we read it. Was a bit concerned when I read on one if the earlier posts about some policies only paying out £500 per person but I checked and M&S are £4000 per person as standard. Their site was great and all our medical conditions (mild too) were on and easy to select. Was happy as underwritten by Aviva. Heard a lot if good reports from Staysure but after our bad experience won't go with them again. Hope you get sorted
