My first ever flight was Heathrow to Boston on BOAC also in 1971 ,I was 13. And one of the first kids in my school to fly. I didnt get one of those log books, they must have thought I was too old. But it was a wonderful experience, I also flew on Pan Am and TWA ... those were the days

The first flight was on a VC 10, its at this point a number of the younger people on here say "a what?"

The second was us coming back for my grandads funeral, don't know why the return flight isn't on there

Makes me feel old

Just looked and the 747 stayed in service with BA until the 30th November 1998 after flying for 24 1/2 years.
Cool! Both myself and my brother were members of the Junior Jet Club, not in BOAC times as I wasn’t born until 76, can still remember asking for the Cabin Crew to get the pilot to sign the book!
