Plant/tree advice please.
My ex sister in law’s mother passed away during Covid. She was a lovely lady, the proverbial life and soul. She loved a 🎉
There is a family get together and celebration of her life next weekend. I would like to take something for my sister in law to plant and watch grow, she won’t need anything to remember her mother by but hopefully will take some pleasure from nurturing something in her garden. Tricky part - I’m not a great gardener so no idea what to get. I’m not sure my sister in law is either. Any ideas? |

An acer tree is lovely. Can be in a pot or into the garden direct. Slow growing and doesn’t need pruning etc. I live them - we have about 20 different ones in our garden and they change to have lovely autumn colour too

The only thing I can think of is a Holly Bush, as Holly plays a big part of our lives in December. The berries are a seasonal favourite.
