The original starlet express in the victoria theatre. They actually fitted out the full auditorium with ramp, lights , bridges etc. So the action was close up.
Second and some may argue its not a musical Jeff waynes war of the worlds live. |

Les Miserables was fantastic & also enjoyed Mama Mia & Wicked. Would love to see Evita.
Really did not like Phantom, the Lion King or Mary Poppins. If fact when we went to see Mary Poppins there was a technical breakdown and the performance was abandoned. We were delighted as our ticket money was refunded & neither of us cared about not seeing the second half. |

Hmm. I saw fantastic touring productions of 42nd Street and Joseph. Neither is my favourite musical (tho I like both), but those productions were so immersive and high energy. I have a feeling Mamma Mia might be a similar experience.
Les Mis was very good, too. Oh and, a long time ago, The King & I. I agree with others who've said they like most/all musicals they've seen. My only exception would be Calamity Jane. It's a great musical, but Jodie Prenger just wasn't well cast as Calam and Calam carries the show.

Come From Away, which is currently playing in the West End, is by far the best musical I’ve ever seen, and we’ve seen most! It’s just incredible, based on true evens and very emotional, but also very uplifting!

I love Les Mis. Saw it in Liverpool a couple of years ago and it was amazing. Very moving.
Most recently, but pre Covid, I saw Rock of Ages. Very funny musical comedy with some classic anthems. Also seen and really enjoyed Hairspray,Mama Mia, Lion King, Chicago, Legally Blond, Wicked and Blood Brothers. Had booked for Mary Poppins for my birthday last June but didn't get. Only ones I didn't rate as much were The Commitments, Phantom and Sister Act. I was expecting Sister Act to have the same songs as the film but it was quite different. |
