Help- anyone know Castleford area?

Hi all
Going to wedding in Sherburn in Elmet on Saturday, will be driving up the A1M. Looking for somewhere nearby where we can let the feral toddler run off some steam between the car journey and the wedding. Any ideas?
Ideally a park with lake/good playpark, or somewhere indoors that has a play area. I can see there's a shopping outlet at Castleford, does it have any kind of play area?
Would prefer within a 20 min drive of Sherburn and no further north!

Thank you I'll check if you have to book. So annoying everywhere wanting advance bookings when you don't know when you'll arrive!

Hi- RSPB Fairburn Ings is nice if the weather is ok (doubtful though) - rspb.uk/reserves-and...fairburn-ings/

or Kidszone Play Centre in Garforth isn't far (10 mins) kidzoneplaycentre/

Have a great day.

If you're coming off the A1 towards Xscape, then Pontefract Park is just at the other side of the M62.

It's a decent sized open park with the race course running round the outer edge, a lake in the middle plus a kids playground. Good for a runaround.

Haha, I grew up in Sherburn!

There is a huge field, Eversley Park and there should be a playground there. The car park for the park and community centre is opposite Aldi.

Xscape has Xplore indoor play area, great for a toddler and to grab a coffee.
The outlet has a small play area but all outdoors.

Great thank you all. Lots of options so we can decide on the way based on weather!
