Yep, called Halifax after 45 days to then be told it will be 45 working days! Given that Halifax will not allow you to request a refund until you have given the supplier 30 days grace in the first place, that's a total of 93 days minimum for Halifax to refund. Nearly as long as Virgin will take anyhow.
Think I will be looking for a new credit card.

Can I ask what process you used with Amex?

I ticked "Dispute this charge" against the original amount and it's just sitting there - says it'll be resolved by 16th Oct! I uploaded the cancellation email VA sent me.

I only did it as I became concerned VA might go bust and it doesn't seem fair that Amex would have to pay out if that happens.

Well overnight I received an email from the refund dept. stating payment would be made between 1-14 days the end is nigh

Overnight the amount has been credited back to our account.
