Universal ticket & annual pass advice.
Hi everyone.
So we go in September and I’ve already brought 14 day 2 park tickets for universal. I am planning on upgrading them to a 2 park annual pass on the understanding that I will only have to pay a small amount to do this. Anyway Florida Tix phoned me today and said the 3 park is only £5 more do I want it, I said to them about my plan and she said it’s better for me to have a 3 park ticket to upgrade to a 2 park annual as it’s worth more and I won’t have to pay as much or anything at all. So has anyone done this recently and what ticket should I go for ? We don’t want to go to volcano bay and I would like the annual pass where you get discount. Thanks ! |

We upgraded our 3 park passes last August and it cost us $48 for all three of us. We didn’t go to Volcano Bay though. Not sure how much the value of the 3 park ticket is compared to the 2 park though. But Floridatix may be right.

In theory she is correct as the 3 park is more expensive so would give you a greater value when upgrading.
You used to be able to upgrade a 3 park to a 2 park provided you hadn’t been to VB. However I believe this option is now no longer available. Recently most people who have tried this haven’t been able to and had to get the 3 park. Hopefully somebody who has been may be able to update. I think if you only want the 2 park ap you are probably better staying with the 2 park explorer. |

Since the end of October, Universal have stopped the effective "downgrade" of the 3-park tickets to 2-park annual passes, whether you have used VB or not.
So the value thing no longer exists. There is another Thread somewhere on this but can't find it at the minute. There is nothing to say that the 2-park ticket can't be exchanged as per your normal plan. Found one of the threads https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1112849&highlight=universal+annua l+pass+upgrade
