Is this attraction still operating on a seasonal timetable, or has it closed now?

The attraction is gone, but they run a Stitch meet and greet in the entrance area now.

I preferred it when it was the alien encounter anyway but the kids loved the stitch ride

Yep definitely gone.

We’ve seen pictures of the ride area completely gutted.

Agreed. An awful attraction.

I wonder what they plan to do with the space? Probably another gift shop.

Officially, Disney's website states that it is "Temporarily Closed".

However, it's pretty much considered closed for good. They do have Stitch meet'n'greets in the entrance area though.

At one point, it was rumoured that the area would be used for a Wreck-It-Ralph VR attraction. But Disney still haven't announced anything. Disney hasn't even formally said it's closed for good yet.

I missed this.., Alien Encounter, I mean. the time before last I went was in 1992 and it was "Mission to Mars".

The kids hated Stitch's Great Escape but I couldn't for the life of me work out why it felt familiar - especially the pre-show - until I did some research.
