Metal detectors on rides
Just watching a video on You Tube filmed at Universal and noticed that on some rides you have to go through a metal detector. As I have had a hip replacement will this set it off and will I be able to go on rides. Thanks

It might set off the detectors but when you explain they’ll scan the area again and soon realIse there’s nothing on the outside setting it off

I've had a hip replacement and I didn't set them off when we were there in 2017. When they occasionally used the hand wand, that bleeped but told them about the hip replacement and they were fine.

Personally I think they're more "electronic" detectors than metal detectors?
I always went through with glasses/sunglasses that never set it off. One time I also forgot to empty the coins out of my pocket so zipped them up in my AP lanyard and that didn't set it off either. The people that were stopped all seemed to just have phones etc. |

I've been through the detectors with a belt, my watch and sunglasses on they didn't set the alarm off. If it does go off they will just scan you with a hand scanner you will be fine.
