I do not know what AA’s policy for upgrades at check-in but I’m sure they will subject to availability but no idea on price.

Interesting one this. as of 14/12 midnight:
Business: J5 R5 D5 I5 : At least 5 seats available to sell in business. - Seat map shows 7 seats available. It’s possible someone did not reserve a seat but AA normally do it automatically.
PE: W7 P7 At least 7 seats available to sell but there are only 5 seats left according to the seat map.

This looks like AA are covering both options. If they can sell 7 seats in PE they will but will then need to upgrade at least 2 to business. So hopefully if not they will sell the m to you at check-in.
