Either the summer holidays but maybe a bit too hot for Dubai or October holidays

October is the perfect time for Dubai although the half term is one of the most popular times there and the rates are high. Summer is very hot and outdoor activities and dining are limited accordingly. I would avoid the summer although you will get a really good deal if you could bear the heat.
A week is a good time, anything less and you may struggle to fit in what you want to do. With kids I would try and book somewhere with a water/theme park onsite. All the Jumeirah properties give you access to Wild wadi (Jumeirah beach hotel, all naseem and madinat properties all close/walking distance). Atlantis has the Aquaventure water park included and the new Lapita hotel has parks onsite. A couple of dibbers have recently been to Lapita and loved it - I’m sure they will be happy to advice. I’ve stayed in the others if any advice needed. Have a look at emirates holidays website as they have a massive selection and currently offer the best deals. |

My kids were 12 and 8 when we visited Dubai this October half term for a week, and we also went as a stopover for 5 nights 18 months earlier. April and October the weather was perfect, I had a friend who went in July and she said the heat was unbearable.
I did a couple of mini trippies you can read here https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1104715 https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1106980 I can recommend both hotels (Atlantis and the Grand Hyatt) for different reasons. You can be as busy or chilled as you like and plenty for the kids to do. Not been to New York since we had kids but it would be a very different holiday to Dubai. |

New York is also great too and my kids love it. However, it’s a totally different type of holiday! October is my favourite time to go to Dubai, the weathe is perfect

We visited Dubai start of October this year and mid Octoner last year, New York and Boston October 2016, with the kids, who are now 14 and 11. My kids love both, obviously different types of holidays. We have stayed at the Atlantis both times in Dubai and even though it's a bit far out, can't imagine staying anywhere else, loads for the kids to do. We plan to do New York end of September next year (our youngest is doing Euro Disney with Guides October holidays) and Dubai at New Year.
