Tubing where is best to go?
Hi we are heading back to the happy place at the end of March! We have been lucky to go quite a few times over the year and whilst we will have a few days in the parks we are heading to Key West and Miami too. We still have a week in Orlando but would like to do something different and tubing looks amazing. I’m hoping it will be warm enough and if the weather isn’t hot we won’t bother as I know the water is quite cool in the springs.
Can anyone who’s been - advise the best places to go as a day trip from Orlando and is it warm enough in April to do this?

I can’t remember which we went to but we tried one year and were not allowed in because the park was ‘full’ this was despite droves of cars leaving the car park. We went to a different place which didn’t have tubing. It was ok but not been desperate to repeat.

We second Kelly Park. Favourite place in the world! Only $5 per car
Depends how many in your party and how many visits you have planned where you would use rings but we take our own tubes from Walmart and a hand pump but we do go a few times and other places ie Blue Spring, beaches so get full use from them and save a fortune. Hubby prefers to free swim down with a snorkel or a noodle thing. As for shoes we don't use them personally but can see why some people do as stony if you walk in up the top. We just jump in the deep bit Watch your knees, bum and feet on the way down esp at the start as a few rocks. We always take an ice box with plenty of ice and drinks etc plus our own bbq food. There are great BBQ facilities there plus an on site shop selling burgers etc. There is also a subway right outside the park and a McDonalds about 10 mins drive away. As mentioned it can fill up very quick esp weekends and busy periods. We avoid weekends for this reason. |

Thank you great info! We will def avoid the weekend and we have tubes from our trip to Cabana Bay last year which I think we will take to use again. Kelly Park looks great so think this may be the one. Thanks both.

I hit them with my selfie stick if they get too close.
Only teasing but there is a very small chance of them being there. And snakes we have seen on a few occasions but the lifeguards were quick to advise people they been spotted and where even though they were small snakes. There are swim only areas and lifeguards present. Plus the noisy people around keep them away. Someone also told us it's too cold for them where the springs break through. Don't know if it is true mind but it is cold when u get in even for us brits! There's lots of wildlife there. Deers, raccoons, otters, plenty of fish, turtles etc. |

Another recommendation for Kelly Rock Springs but get there early. They only let a certain amount of cars in and then close. It's a bit of a drive away so you wouldn't want to go all that way and not get in. Plus by getting there early you can pick a good picnic spot. There's also a QS place where we had some food. We were there in summer and it was bracing when you first got in but lovely after that.
