Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach

We are a group of 3 kids 4, 7, 9 and 4 adults.
We are probably only going to fit one in.
Focus will be on fun over thrills.
We want a good Lazy river, good kids area and some good group/tandem slides.

I don't really want kids on there own going down big slides- let me know if I'm being daft.

Which would you recommend?

My kids are exactly the same age and would choose Typhoon Lagoon everyday!
They weren't even that bothered with the slides, the huge wave pool was their favourite place to be!

Mine was 7 when we last went and spent the entire time in the wave pool when we were at Typhoon Lagoon.

We go again in a couple of months and I’ve been instructed to plan another day for TL so that’s where our water park time will be spent!

Both Disney Water Parks have what you’re looking for, but with the children in your group being quite young I would recommend Blizzard Beach. The Melt-Away Bay wave pool at BB is much gentler than the Surf Pool at Typhoon Lagoon, which generates big powerful waves that can knock younger children off their feet. The floor of the TL Surf Pool is really rough too and can give a nasty graze. You can bob about in rubber rings in Melt-Away Bay at BB or have a paddle or swim. We love both Water Parks and visit both, but if I could only choose one it would be BB.

If you are going to be with your kids or keeping a close eye, then TL. It has everything you need.

I do however think that the wave pool can be quite strong. Problem I suspect not so much with the 4 yo who will be with somebody I. The shallows, more with the 9 up who might wish to push boundaries. My 13 yo is aa string swimmer and we keep an eye on her in there. Is very least to get turned about if you inch too deep.

Melt away bay in BB is gentler in that regard, but I personally think more of the thrill rides are far more thrilling if you see what I mean!

Overall, if only had one. I would do TL.

However, I probably wouldn't only have one. I would personally split it and go morning / late afternoon at a waterpark. Break - then to another park for the evening or something. Has several benefits. Keeps them from a full day in the sun, keeps them from pestering you for another trip. Gives you a bit of downtime, and is an excellent way of tiring them out on the last day before you return home.

Are there tandem tubes at either of these parks for little ones? There appear to be few height restrictions, but have looked on YouTube and some of these bigger tube slides look quite fast!

I would also go for TL, the pool feels so much bigger so there is room to spread out and play in the shallow area.

We prefer Blizzard Beach - with the rides they have we hardly go near the pool
