motion sickness on rides
Can anybody recommend medication you’ve used to take before going on rides. Also, do they cause drowsiness. I’ve looked at the side effects of sturgeon and it says they may cause drowsiness. Cheers.

I've never had drowsiness with Stugeron before so it's worth trying beforehand as not everyone gets all the side effects.
That being said, it's also not the most effective motion sickness remedy for me either. It usually works, but I have more success with Dramamine (available in U.S.). This made me a touch sleepy but not so much that it interferes with my day. For the record, I've only used these for car or bus journeys and not theme park rides.

I could do with finding something. The 3D rides at Universal Studios are a nightmare for me, I love them all as well!
Given up on The Simpsons now as that really messes me up!

I've bought an anti-emetic wristband, hopefully that'll do the trick for me. It did when I went whale watching in California (which I never could have done without one) so I'm hoping its going to have the same effect on rides.

Sturgeon worked for me last night, managed simpson/transformers/minions/gringots back to back with no issues. The year before I ride forbidden journey and it absolutely ruined my day so steered clear of that one!

I have had some dramamine brought over from the US by a friend - has anyone used this for rides and if so, how long before the ride did you take it? Thanks and sorry to jump on thread! 🙈

DH suffers with motion sickness and he thinks Bonine (from Publix) and he’s fine with this.

I can report back on Sturgeon as I took one this morning before going to HS. I rode Minions, RIP Ride Rocket, Simpson’s and The Mummy.
I didn’t feel sick at all, nor did I feel drowsy so I’ll take two Sturgeon tomorrow morning before going to IOA and the Hulk in particular which made me feel sick for two days afterwards last time when I was here, admittedly I did go on it 3 times in a row which wasn’t a good idea I realised too late. Fingers crossed again. Thanks for the advice so far. |
