Train advice needed...

We've only ever flown to DLP but thinking of going to see it when it's the enchanted Christmas. Thinking of end of Nov. The Eurostar there is £130 for two adults and one child but it doesn't run on the day we want to return. Is there the other indirect one? Haven't got a clue about trains...

Sure, we get the indirect train because it’s a lot cheaper and because I don’t like the times of the direct train. It’s via Lille and is a really easy change.

the indirect trains are easy, you can usually book them at about 3 months before travel.

The other option is to get a train to Paris (Gare du Nord) and then get the RER which takes about 45 minutes. You need to change once but it's very easy.

The Paris trains are often cheaper and you can get special offers - we recently got them for £29 each in November. They tend to be unpopular times though.

How soon in advance are these available ? So do you mean go on the Eurostar to Paris rather than DLP and then change train?

Yes. It's a bit more faff than either direct or changing at Lille, but the payoff is, more cheap seats and possibly an earlier arrival time.

There are plenty of descriptions on YouTube showing you exactly how to do it.

Basically at Gare du Nord you buy a return RER ticket from the machine (which has English as an option).

Then take the blue RER line B Sud (South) one stop to Chatelet les Halles.

When you get off the train, the platform for line A (red) is facing you. There is a departure board above your head which shows all the stops that trains stop at. If 'Marne la Vallee' is lit up, then the next train goes there. So you just jump on it, and about 30 minutes later, you're at Marne la Vallee.

We did the indirect Eurostar via Lille Flandres for the first time this morning and it was SO easy! I actually enjoyed the journey more than the direct service.

We were in the park by 11.30 which was another massive bonus compared to the direct one.

We went via Lille and would do it again. Very easy and so much cheaper than direct. Also we got to stay until 6pm and the direct train leaves much earlier than that.

So I go on the Eurostar website but select Lille? How do I book the next part?
