You Tube
Being a silver server ime not really into much internet stuff but I've recently discovered I enjoy watching programmes on YouTube,is it a safe site as I now get dozens of scam emails regarding Bitcoin? I block senders and send to junk but still they come , I also get some pretending to be from uk supermarkets with money off vouchers but are sent from a foreign address. Now ime too scared to use YouTube

Nothing to do with YouTube depending on what you using emails for company’s can get, hold of x amount of emails then spam you with offers. I never had any problems with YouTube

I too have no problems with YouTube. There is a great deal of interesting and informative stuff on there which I use for research or product reviews etc. An awful lot of dross and a fair bit of light hearted fluff too.
The only problem with YouTube I find is that it is a bit of a wormhole you start watching something you want to watch on say pension provision and I come up for air two hours later after having spent hours watching flashmob videos, or videos of guilty dogs or babies laughing. The pension stuff was probably about 1% of the time 😂 |

The spam you are getting isn’t related to YouTube, dodgy people have just obtained your email address (probably through illegitimate means).
In the last couple of weeks I’ve started getting loads about Bitcoin too, i think the senders have found a way of getting round the email providers spam blockers, but I expect that will get closed off soon. |

Just looked at my junk folder and I’ve had 8 Bitcoin emails since yesterday. Until recently my junk folder rarely got anything because of the preventative work done by providers to stop unsolicited mass mailings from being delivered.

There has been a release of hundreds of millions of email addresses that have been hacked in the last few weeks.

Thank you.
Actually this link might be useful in general chat where folks can see it. Esp if it came with useful advice on how to sort it out if you are on the list! I found your post the other day on ethical hacking and password manag3s really helpful. I am a bit of a luddite really, stuff like this can be a bit scary if you don't know how to fix it.
